Planning a wedding is not only stressful, but it can also be a costly affair. Many couples do their best to stick to a budget and save money wherever they can, whether that means cutting down the guest list or having a simple ceremony at home. No matter how you choose to celebrate the beginning of your life together, one easy way to save money without sacrificing the beauty of your big day is to make your own decorations! In part two of this series, we will give you a few more DIY projects that you can use to make your big day look spectacular!

TABLE NUMBERS

Table numbers may seem like the least important thing on your wedding checklist, but they are necessary to help people find their assigned seat. Thankfully, table numbers are one item on your list that you can easily tackle yourself. Instead of buying pre-made table numbers, you can easily paint numbers in fancy lettering onto blocks, or even create your own unique indicators that reflect your theme.

WEDDING FAVORS

At a wedding, it’s common courtesy for the bride and groom to give their guests a small favor to remember the special day. Wedding favors come in many forms, whether it be a tiny box of chocolates that have the bride and groom’s initials on them or another token that they will be able to take home. While there are many couples who choose to buy their wedding favors in bulk, you can easily make your own favors by hand. For example, if you plan on having a winter wedding to save money, you may choose to create tiny hot cocoa mixes that you can leave at each place setting. Another idea is to pot a succulent for each guest that they can take home and enjoy for many years. There are numerous ideas to choose from, so let your mind run free until you find one that feels right.

GUEST BOOK

A great way to remember who came to your wedding is by providing your guests with a book in which they can leave a message for you and your new spouse. Instead of buying a book for everyone to sign, you can easily create your own unique guest book, and maybe even stray from some of the more traditional ideas. For example, instead of a simple book, you can try to change things up and use photographs that you take with a photo booth, or have everyone write down advice on a piece of paper and place it in a decorative bowl.
