Once your big day finally arrives, there are a few things you will wish you had known in advance to help make the day more memorable and enjoyable. In part one of this series, we discussed three things that nobody tells you about your wedding day, such as the fact that you will cry and that the ceremony will be the best part. As we continue with part two, we will discuss three more things that you will need to know when you get ready to say “I do.”

10 MINUTES BEFORE THE CEREMONY IS THE MOST NERVE-WRACKING PART

No matter how sure you are that the person standing at the end of the aisle is your soulmate, you will start to feel nervous right before the ceremony begins. The earlier part of the day is spent doing your hair and your makeup and getting ready with your friends. However, once all of the distractions are over and you’re just waiting to walk down the aisle, that is when your nerves will take hold. Take a few moments to remember the reason why you are here in the first place — the love of your life — and the nerves will pass in no time!

YOU MIGHT NOT SEE OR TALK TO EVERY GUEST

Once the ceremony ends, the rest of the evening is a whirlwind of music, laughter, food, and photos. If your guest list is small, then you may be able to say hello to most of the guests that you invited. Unfortunately, there will be a few guests that you will miss greeting no matter how hard you try. Some people may only stay for the ceremony, while others may trickle out of the reception before you make your way to every table. This is completely normal, and you can always tell any guests you missed how much you appreciated their attendance at a later date.

YOU WILL WANT A LITTLE ALONE TIME

Your wedding day will be a roller coaster of emotions (in the best way possible), and at times you may feel a little overwhelmed. It’s natural to feel like you need a few moments to yourself, whether it’s right after the ceremony or in the middle of the reception. In fact, you may find that some of the best memories you have of the day were when you found a spare moment with your new spouse to simply be alone and take it all in together.
