Q: Special/favorite moment of your day?

A: Special moment of the day is when my Aunt surprised me when I was getting ready to wear my Grandmother’s Mother’s ring. Favorite moment, celebrating and dancing with our friends and family.

Q: Favorite Moment of Day?

A: My favorite moment of the day was during our first dance. We were able to take in the whole reception and have a special moment of just us.

Q: Best memory of day?

A: The day was filled with love and laughter with a few minor hiccups. The best memory of the day was during our first dance when he and I were able to take in everything around us.

Q: Wedding Theme?

A: Color – Burgundy and Navy Blue

Q: Why did you choose the dress you picked?

A: When I went dress shopping, I tried my best to go with an open mind and try on anything and everything. For myself, I wanted something elegant and that I would be comfortable in. When I tired the dress on, I just knew that was the one for me. I tried on about 3-4 dresses before the last one.

Q: A few sentences about your wedding?

A: Derek and I got married at my family Parish and had our reception at a local fire department. Getting married at my family Parish was extremely important to me and having a venue that could accommodate my large family. Derek and I were surrounded by all of our friends and family and felt so special. My Dad has a 1967 Chevelle and my husband has a 1970 Chevelle. My dad drove me in his car to the church and my husband and I left in his. Derek and I wanted a big party after the wedding and, we did in fact have a party.

Q: How did you and your groom meet?

A: We met through mutual friends/family at a thirty birthday party at the National Harbor. Due to mutual friends, we were around each other on the occasion. Then, one evening we were both out at the same bar and exchanged numbers. We went on our first date a few weeks later.

Q: How did your groom propose?

A: He proposed at the Gaylord National Harbor – ICE, December 2018. In 2018, the theme for ICE at the National Harbor was Snoopy, I am a Snoopy fan. As soon as the theme was released, I sent my husband the link with all the information. Little did I know, within the link was an engagement package. I coordinated with my parents, brother and his girlfriend to spend the evening at the National Harbor. Weeks prior to our engagement, Derek did a tour at the Gaylord and got to pick where he would propose. In addition, Derek picked out all of the details on my engagement ring.

Q: Do you have any advice to brides planning their wedding?

A: No matter how much of a planner a bride can be, I highly encourage getting at least a day of coordinator. While I am a very detail oriented person, there are still questions that arise on the day of with venders. Having someone to check on the venders and double check things is worth it. We did not have a wedding coordinator and that is the only thing that we would do differently. Everything worked out, our florist and caterer stepped in and fixed all issues.

Q: What was your favorite part/thing/experience about shopping with Serendipity?

A: From the moment I walked in the door I felt welcomed and that I was special. All of the staff was extremely helpful and patient. When I went in for follow-up appointments, I felt like I was family. No question was too little, nor was I expected to know everything. I had a wonderful experience and recommend Serendipity to all of my friends.
