1. Special/favorite moment of your day?
There were so many special moments that day but one that sticks out was JD & I being driven to the reception by my grandfather in his Ford Galaxie.
2. Best memory of day?
Our first dance stands out as my favorite memory of the day. We danced to "Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran. It was so nice to have that special time with my Groom to bask in our day.
3. Wedding Theme - Color:
We didn't have a specific theme but our colors were mauve, blush pink, greenery, and gold
4. Why you chose the dress you picked?
I had browsed Pinterest but I did not go into Serendipity knowing exactly what kind of dress I wanted. I just knew I wanted something that was fitted through the waist and then flowy. As I tried on dresses I started to get an idea of what I liked and didn't like. I ended up choosing the dress I picked because I loved the lace detail in the front and back of the bodice of my dress compared to the others I had tried on. I also immediately fell in love with the train of my gown and knew it was the one for me.
5. Tell us about your wedding!
Our wedding was originally planned for May 02, 2020 but restrictions and capacity limits that were in place at the time due to the coronavirus forced us to postpone to Labor Day weekend. After a humid 90 degree week, our wedding day came and it was a beautiful Saturday with gorgeous 80 degree weather. Me and my bridesmaids spent the morning getting ready at Jubilee. Our afternoon ceremony was at the church I grew up attending. The reception was at Jubilee Farm and Vineyard. Our reception venue was the perfect backdrop for a beautiful evening. It is on the water but also has vineyards, gardens, and a rustic barn. We had a blast celebrating with our wedding party and family and friends and we couldn't have asked for a better day!
6. How did you and your groom meet?
JD and I knew of each other through a mutual friend and had met very briefly before. Then we ran into each other at a bar while I was at home on summer break before my senior year of college. We started chatting and the rest was history!
7. How did your groom propose?
JD proposed during our random weekend getaway to Charleston, South Carolina. We were strolling through Magnolia Plantation when he found the perfect spot to pop the question.
8. Advice to bride planning her wedding.
Stay organized and on top of things but try not to stress. Focus on one thing at a time so you don't overwhelm yourself with figuring it all out at once. Trust that it will all come together beautifully! Wedding planning during the pandemic can be even more stressful with changing restrictions and guidelines but keep your eye on the end prize, your marriage!
9. What favorite part/thing/experience about shopping with Serendipity?
My favorite experience at Serendipity was definitely the day I picked my dress. It was a group of ten of us and I loved that Serendipity let everyone be involved in the process. My ladies had "vote" signs to give me their opinion on the dresses and some of them helped Samantha pick out dresses for me to try on. We all did a toast when I found my dress. It was such a fun day and Serendipity made me feel like part of the family!
