Your Personal Check List


  • Obtain marriage license; make sure it’s valid through the wedding day
  • Contact stragglers who haven’t replied by the RSVP deadline
  • Create final schedule of events/timeline; send to all vendors so they are all on the same page
  • Meet with officiant to discuss procession and review ceremony order
  • Do trial runs with makeup artist and hair stylist
  • Print the ceremony programs
  • Order menus for reception, if needed
  • Start gathering the following: guest book; pen; handkerchief; garter; something old, new, borrowed, blue. If you need them for your ceremony, make sure you have: unity candle, sand ceremony vases.
  • Purchase a special cake-cutting knife and toasting flutes
  • Obtain instructions on how to change your name
  • Meet with photographer to go over schedule and shot list
  • Meeting with videographer to go over schedule and review details
  • Review honeymoon travel reservations; make reservations for special restaurants, outings
  • Make shopping list of anything you need for honeymoon
  • Send out rehearsal dinner invitations
  • Book manicure and pedicure appointments for the day before the wedding
  • Finish vows, if writing your own
  • If moving, send change of address to post office
  • Have your bachelor/bachelorette party
